The Artic Will Melt By 2040

Scientists: 'The Roof of the World' is Melting (from '60 Minutes')

At the current rate of climate change, there will be no ice at the North Pole by 2040. What will the meltdown mean for us? more
While speaking to a friend last night about our world situation, sadly I wasn't heartbroken by the human species being possibly wiped out by all the effects this will have within the century.

We are a rude, short-sighted, destructive species who are advancing in knowledge and technology but not in spirituality and wisdom. What does shake me to the bottom of my soul about the elements of our current and upcoming global changes -- those that break my heart -- are the animal and plant species that this planet will lose. Earth, in all of her magnificent, will lose such a vast array of living forms that are unequal anywhere else in the universe.

Earth and her ecosystem, from clouds to ants to meadow flowers to polar bears......what a gift. What a waste of breathing space mankind is. Make sure you get to Wal-Mart for their latest version of Elmo, will ya?
