Cucumber Martinis
Ashley, over at 'dogged - A girl, her mutt and some yarn,' recently made this drink for a number of her friends:

Cucumber Martinis:
4 parts Hendrick’s Gin
3 parts white cranberry juice
2 parts Cointreau
1 part lime juice
I'm thinking it sounds like the perfect cocktail for when it's 109* with 24% humidity! Like right now. Or tonight after work. Plans are that Luna and I are going swimming at Sheri's. She has a new puppy of the "dot" kind named Maverick. I've told Luna about the new puppy and swimming. I don't know which event she is more excited about -- puppy with dots or water.
Me? I'm going to take the mixings for the martinis. I'm hoping to like them and at least have found a cooling drink for the rest of the summer. I'm not much of a drinker and especially when it's so hot outside. I've had a few gin and tonics this summer. Those have been such a nice change from beer or cheap iced wine. Why cheap? Because the ice melts so fast that it just waters down the wine. But these cucumber martinis sound yummy for a hot Friday.
And whatever cucumbers are left over will go to Mr. Tuttles. They are his favorite treat!
Knitting: DONE!!! DONE with Clapotis II for Charlotte and it will be going into the mail on Monday!!! This weekend, some time, some where, I will be blocking FBS. Hehhehhhhhe.

Work is not always required... there is such a thing as sacred idleness, the cultivation of which is now fearfully neglected.--George McDonald
